Senior dog not eating 30 hours after spleen removal surgery?

My dog is 13, M, 90 pounds
He just went though surgery about 30 hours ago.
He has been drinking water but no food. He drank a lot of water in the middle of night and then threw it up.
Slept more and then 2 hours later gave him more water (not as much) and he drank and sleeping now
He whines a little intermittently
Is it ok he is still not eating?
Any guidance or advise is greatly appreciated
