Question During Trial Adoption
Post Body

We're doing a trial adoption with a, roughly, one year old pit bull (breed provided solely to help with potential medical concerns) this weekend. She's incredibly sweet, gets along as well as can be expected with our three year old hound. In terms of everything that you'd expect to be concerning we're great.

The concern, she's just recently a year old and had her first litter in late December. Based on her predicted age, I'd venture to guess she was impregnated during her first heat. She was a stray prior to being rescued, she was emaciated and delivered ten puppies within days of being rescued. There were definite signs of neglect prior to her being rescued, including indicators a shock collar may have been used as more than a training tool. When we did our first meet and greet, approximately a month ago, she was urinating frequently we expressed our concern and were informed she'd been treated for a UTI previously and they'd treat her again. Which, she has been per their records. She's urinated 10-20 times in the last hour. I've housebroken puppies before, and that amount of urination (with at least a teaspoon of production) seems concerning to me.

We think she's a great dog. We think she'd be a good fit for our household. We're also concerned she might have a UTI or the age at which she had her first litter may have impacted the development of her bladder.

We're going to express our concerns to the foster organization as well. I'm mostly posting here to make sure we're not misreading things. Any guidance or thoughts would be appreciated.
