So, long story short, I just got notified by my dogs vet that my 2 year old shihtzu has a high ALT level (139 IU/L). They are wanting to put him on some medications.

Has anyone had a similar experience and was it worth it?

I’m learning that he has a sensitive tummy to anything new at all so it’s difficult to transition him to new food or even new dog treats. I had a plan to transition him to food for sensitive tummies (not started) and now this comes up.

I plan on having conversations with the vet but just not too educated on stuff like this and would like to know before tossing money at them.
