So some bg before my question- I am a first time pet owner and my doodle mix keeps waking up with gunk in his eyes and throughout the day, developed more. I keep wiping it but it keeps coming back. I have pictures. I called the vet and they said there is t much to worry about and asked if he was eating and defecating properly. At the time, he was but now he didn’t eat today, but I think that’s a different issue. I know that SOME eye goop is regular and I wipe it away, but it just seems excessive.

He is a doodle and has rather long hair so my question is this- could my dog be getting more goop in his eye because the long hair is irritating his eyes?
