My sweet āAnnie Girlā (12 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, 14 lbs) was diagnosed with what the vet described as aggressive cancer in July of 2022.
It started off as a relatively small growth on her backside. I had the growth surgically removed. It was following the removal, after results of pathology came back, that I received the bad news.
The hope was that the surgery had removed the cancer. The vet did his best to remove all the margins, though there was no guarantee that it wouldnāt return. Unfortunately, it did. Aggressively!
You can use the link provided to view a picture of the current state of the growth. Of note is that this is the only growth location on her body at this point. When I last visited the vet toward the end of November, he prepared us for the worst. He indicated that she likely had, at best, around four months of quality life remaining. Cancer treatments were, in his opinion, would only delay the inevitable and carry their own set of symptoms.
Annie is currently taking Prednisone, Pepcid, and Benadryl. Iām also giving her Pet Well Being Life Gold and Mushroom Gold.
So, here were we are, all these months later, and Annie is, all things considered, doing quite well. Aside from the giant growth on her backside of course. She has a healthy appetite, and her personality continues to shine through and brighten my life.
Please take a look at the picture of the growth. Also, check out a video or two. Does this look like a dog struggling through lymphoma? Am I missing something? What should I be doing now to be giving Annie the best chance of living her best life? Thanks!
