Context:
1) I'm new in UK and this is something I am trying to learn and understand: What exactly is this British culture people keep talking about? I want to understand so I can integrate and when I have kids down the line I could explain this to them too. I've gone around asking directly but no one ever has an answer and it soon devolves into jokes about Tea, Weather, and Queing.
2) Two months ago I posted in an indirect way asking what events have changed British culture, I figured maybe this way I'll get some answers that I could research online.
Nope. The top three posts: First one, a joke. Second one, guy says "do your own homework". Third one, guy does talk about changes from the 1940s but then someone posted about the India/Pakistan partition so the original commenter then starts blaming the partition on South Asia while denying historically confirmed influence of British officers in that fuck up.
3) 4 Days ago, a Hungarian guy had posted asking about why foreigners are disliked and that eventually got locked for obvious reasons. Vast majority of people complained about foreigners "not integrating", "Not speaking English in public", and "British culture".
---------------------------
I explained the above to show that this is a serious post. I genuinely want to understand what exactly this Holy Grail of "British Culture" is because it seems to be elusive. The UK wants foreigners to integrate into this seemingly mysterious culture but no one seems to actually want to explain how it works or what it even is without joking or just saying "Fuck off" in so many words.
So please..... explain it to me. Help this foreigner understand what I'm supposed to be integrating into. I mean I'm clearly fluent in English. What else you got?
