Is it bad I have never been in my local pub?

Post Body

A bit of context.

I am a gay male and live in Manchester. I moved here 6 years ago from Glasgow and I have never once set foot in my local.

I've always thought those local pubs you see are for straight people and that gays won't be welcome in there so I've stayed away from them. The thought of going into one makes me nervous, it's not that I don't know how to talk to people but more people don't know how to talk to me. I've walked past my local millions of times and say to myself I'll go in for a pint one of those days but never do.

Sexuality aside, has anyone else never been in there local?
