I regularly host BBQs and board game nights at my place that my British friends come to. For context I'm a graduate student living in a shared house. Friends are on the same course. I was born in Europe but grew up in the UK, but still don't consider myself British. I've noticed my European friends are a lot more open to invite me to their place Vs my British ones.
Anyways, I've always expressed interest in going to visit my friends's places and having dinner with them at their place, or something, so they know I'm keen on hanging out with them and their house/friends, but I never get an invite.
It feels like this is a barrier to progressing in my friendship and connection with these people as that's what I'm looking for, to feel part of a community and make lasting friendships.
