How to visit Scotland to experience all the beautiful nature?

Post Body

Hello people of Reddit, i hope You can help us plan our visit of Scotland. We are couple from Essex and we would love to experience the beautiful nature of Scotland. As our August holiday is getting closer to date we are trying to figure out the best route for it.

The thing is we don't own a car so our main plan was to get a train to London, from there another train to Edinburgh (6hours train seems fun to us) and spend some time in Edinburgh. After Edinburgh we wanted to take a train to Inverness and from there hire a car and see surrounding areas. That was our main plan, but if You can suggest something better go on, we will review all the ideas.

We dont really care about big cities and stuff, all we want to see is lakes, rivers, hills, just nature ;).

Kindly thank You in advance and wish You all great day.

Edit.

Thank You all for your ideas and advice, after discussion we have agreed to the one plan. We will hire a car from our place, drive our way across the country to Scotland and finish at Glencoe and Onich, where we rented a bed & breakfast accomodation. We will have couple of days to see things on a west coast and maybe visit some places on our way back as well.

Thank You all for everything and wish You all wonderful day.
