HELP! Impounded car :-(

So, I just bought a car on Saturday and on my way home I got stopped by the police. Given that I just bought the car I didn't have the insurance yet, now it seems that I need a special insurance given that the car is impounded.
However, given that I'm a foreigner nobody wants to sell me an insurance for an impounded car. If I don't get this sorted out, they will dispose the car next week.
What should I do? ðŸ˜
