Not trying to cause trouble, but do Indians/Asians not say thanks (details inside)?

Post Body

So I work outdoors all day around Kensington and Chelsea, which is a prime tourist area. I get asked directions all the time and whilst there may be the odd one who doesn't say thanks, 95% of them do. But when it comes to Indians/Pakistanis etc they never, ever say thanks. I've called them out about it either with a pardon/sarcastic "you're welcome" or just outright asking them do they not say thanks. They will then normally apologise and say thanks.

It's got to the point where I am genuinely surprised if they say thanks first time round.

Any ideas? Like I say, not trying to stir up trouble etc just genuinely want to know.

Cheers :-)
