Are there pros and cons living about a shop?

Hi, I am thinking of buying a 1 bed flat and the only thing I can afford currently is above a shop but close to transport links and the property is in good condition (apparently)....I was wondering are there any disadvantages in living about a shop? The only thing I care about is future security (as in if I can get I don't have to worry about rent again) warm place and obviously if and when the time comes to sell the value of the property goes up and able to move somewere else and I am in 40's and very likely to be single for time to come!
