How do I hand in my notice for retail job 3 shifts in?
Post Body

Hi all,

I've worked at my weekend retail job for about 2 weeks now and I want to hand in my notice, the pay was absolutely awful for my age (minimum wage for 18 year old). I've recently got accepted to another job working in a similar sort of retail role and the pay is practically double what I've been getting.

I've only done 3 shifts so far, how would I go about handing in my notice? Or is it not that serious? I definitely enjoyed my limited time there but the pay that I would be getting at my new job is much better and definitely more "livable".

Also, I was specifically hired to cover peak hours at this store, I feel like I'd be letting everyone down by just giving up 3 shifts in. On the other hand, fuck em', my contract says I work 6 hours a week (they start their weeks on Sunday, so it's technically 12 hours a week when I work both Sat and Sun) on £8 an hour.

My contract says I must give 4 weeks notice, which doesn't sound very doable considering I am starting my new job ASAP. What do I do in this situation? Doesn't seem very practical to give 4 weeks notice for a job I've done 3 shifts for.

TLDR: I've done 3 shifts at my £8/hr 6 hour week retail job for 2 weeks now and want to hand in my notice; got another job elsewhere for double my current pay. Contract says I need to give 4 weeks notice. What do I do here?
