Do some parts of the British countryside have a scary feel?
Post Body

Below is a from a comment on the Movie chat website which discusses films and TV shows. The comments is regards a film And Soon the Darkness released in 1970 set in the French countryside and the comment describes how scary and uninviting the countryside is. Does anyone feel there are parts of the countryside in the UK which have a scary feel to them and would make a good background to thrillers or horror films.

"However! I did like the use of the merciless sunshine as opposed to the titular darkness and/or shadows to convey dread - and the lonely French countryside could never be made to look inviting... there's something sinister and menacing about it that just isn't present in rural England, Germany, or Spain.
