SD to SSD file transferring hardware questions
Post Body

So I'm going on a trip and want to shoot a lot of video (4k60). I'm planning on getting a external SSD and some reasonably fast read SD cards and do a daily backup of the footage. The main thing is I want the transfer to be as fast and simple as possible.

My question is if I plug a SSD and a SD card (both with good read/write speeds) into my laptop, is the laptop itself going to bottleneck the transfer speed? The laptop is nothing fancy, don't have the specs in front of me. I just want to know that when I fill the SD cards I can quickly transfer the data, wipe the cards, and use them in the gopro again within a pretty short window.
