Does older software run faster on new hardware?

Im asking cause im sick of my phone overheating from stressing to handle itself when im basically getting screen time 16 hours a day.
Companies are constantly pushing newer and better tech, but i suspect that it sacrifices performance as a result.
Is there a way to use older UI on newer phones, and would it enhance how quickly i can navigate my device?
