The child recently turned four. They do have an autism diagnosis. They are able to follow directions somewhat, but will try biting different things (if inside, they’ll try biting on toys, bouncy balls, almost anything they can find.) This is why they have a chewie, which they’ll sometimes eventually spit out. They are not potty trained, and still wear diapers (they can understand English and one other language.) They have tried grabbing the food of their peers, and tried to grab a little girl’s food multiple times in a public setting today. They grow antsy if they are not provided with a bike ride. They’ll try to grab things that other people have/own. They aren’t able to tell people when they have used the restroom and are mostly nonverbal.
Their teachers are dissatisfied with their aide, as their aide pushed them down when the child with autism bit her. The assistant teacher at the child’s daycare has more recently found the child difficult to work with, though the assistant teacher is not educated on the subject of autism.
They have been at the same school for about a year.
