I remember during 6th-12th grade, I told my speech teacher I needed someone to talk to and she recommended me a therapist. Ever since 6th-12th grade, I got pulled out of class for an hour a week to talk to him. It really helped.
I was an IEP student too.
My question is
Are teachers required to know that you are seeing a therapist? I know when I was going to see him they were like "your being called down to the office", did the teachers know why though?
Also as a teacher; what was your perception of students who did this? Do you view your students any differently? Were you supportive of students who did this?
Let me know I'm genuinely curious.
