For example, in a video game, a player with a 100% winrate (meaning they won all of the games that they have played) but only 1 game played obviously has a lower weight (I don't know how I would define weight here) or at the least, is more unpredictable.
Versus a player with a 60% winrate (meaning they won 60% of the games that they have played), but having played 200 matches has a much higher weight, or at the very least, is more predictable.
How can I take the amount of games played into account when discussing winrates?
I imagine this is similar to reviews of products. A product with 5 stars and 10 reviews is less trustworthy than a product with 4.2 stars and 1000 reviews. Is this simply a psychological phenomenon with no basis in statistics, or is there a way to accurately represent the "rating" of something?
