Asking for a friend (no, really!): A colleague is teaching a class using SPSS, which students used to be able to use in the university labs. After the shutdown, our university set up about 100 VM's running SPSS, but there are shared across many departments for many different software needs. So, her students really can't get access to these limited resources. So... any alternatives? Would PSPP be a close enough clone so the students could easily jump into that? Are there any other free/extremely low cost alternatives/SPSS servers out there (SPSS.cloud? ☺)? Yes, I personally use R, but switching this person's class to truly different software with 3 weeks left in the semester isn't really an option. Thanks in advance for any ideas you have!
**Edit: I found (and someone also suggested) that SPSS has a free trial through June 15th <link>. After looking for a good, comprehensive list of temporarily available free software that might help academic types, I gave up and started one of my own <link>. Please feel free to suggest additions that might help people! Thanks!
