I asked this in /r/AskHistory, but was thinking that posting here might shed more light on the topic.
Where is Germany now? How does Germany's position today tentatively operate? Within the last decade, there has been a bigger calling for Germany to take the mantle as the leader of the Eurozone, but Germany has been hesitant. Has there been any changes in the dynamics of this situation?
These are some other questions that are related and spawned this specific post if you would like to take a shot at these as well:
I've been trying to place Germany in the world after its destruction after both WWI and WWII, and just how it became to be such a strong presence both within the Eurozone and in the world. Just how did it overcome scarred past relations and stigmatisms regarding the Nazi State in order to become so internationally accepted?
Was it with the aid of international brands, specific resources that Germany possesses, the nature of the German people, revolutions in culture/education? Or am I wrong and does France and other nations still hate Germany beneath the public eye?
I definitely understand that the Post-War Period had a huge impact in establishing strong foundations and both political and economic alliances with neighboring nations and the U.S., but where did it go from there? Why has Germany been able to create such a strong industrial foundation? Is there a lot of iron, or coal, or whatever? Just how has it become the exporting powerhouse it is right now?
