In the notorious Holiday Special, we see Chewie's wife, son, and father (father-in-law?) living together in a perfectly respectable suburban home.

In Jontron's "Starcade" series of videos, which concludes with the Holiday Special, he says something like: "WTF, Chewbacca is a big dirty space animal. How does his family live in a house that looks like the set of a '70s sitcom?"

That's paraphrased, but you get the idea.

Their lives, from a contemporary human real-world perspective, seem pretty mundane and "normal" -- the opposite of exotic, if you will.

They appear to just be regular, normal middle-class folk. Their lifeways and activities are comparable to those of 20th century humans in the Milky Way.

They watch an equivalent of TV. The Grandpa enjoys some VR porn, the kid plays with a model starship, and the mom cooks up some Bantha meat while watching a cooking video.

They're just regular people. But in space. And they're big hairy space animals.

I get the impression Chewbacca and Han do illegal things, such as smuggling drugs and such.

Does his family know about this? Do they know where the money's coming from, or do they just assume he works as some kind of space equivalent of a truck driver, involved with freight and logistics for regular legal goods?

Does he have to launder his illegally begotten credits or something? Is the wife complicit in said money laundering?
