Post Body

i don't understand why they had to jump to the 32nd century anyways.

didn't the final battle in season 2 eliminate control?

or was there control in other parts of the federation that was ready to try again if it failed there in the major battle?

or what was about the sphere data that was so dangerous inherently? it's just scientific data procured over the 100,000 years and wouldn't some of that data be out dated?

so what could've possibly happened if discovery remained in the 23rd century ?

what dou think?

Comments

I might be totally misremembering but uh.

The sphere Data contains information on how to create Control. If it remains in the present they'll have to redact or destroy it, which is unconscionable.

Control cannot be allowed to be recreated because it's impossible to give beneficent operating perimeters.

IMHO this was effectively the only ethical quandary of interest in the entire show.
