how much bigger does the sun need to get to heat up Mars

I could be wrong on the very little I understand about making Mars livable.
My two thoughts are first is some chemical reactions that could thicken the atmosphere so it can hold heat
My other thought is based on my understanding of the sun continue to grow like many times its size and that might heat Mars.
If any one knows of something I could read that states what is needed to happen for us to comfortably line on Mars
