Organic Chemistry: Can Wilkinson's catalyst be used on C-C bonds rather than molecular hydrogen?
Post Body

Shot in the dark, not sure if any organic chemists browse reddit. I was curious if Wilkinson's catalyst can be used on a C-C bond in substitution of molecular hydrogen? In other words, rather than hydrogenation, can it be used for alkylation? I ask because a carbon carbon bond has similar qualities to a hydrogen hydrogen bond, including similar bond energy (or even weaker). I would think that shouldn't be a stretch for such a mechanism to work.
