What would happen if two gas giants were to collide with eachother?

Post Body

Assume that both planets are traveling at fast or slow enough speeds that collision was inevitable and gravity wouldn't force them away from eachother or into some wonky orbit around eachother. Also assume the planets are very nearly identical in composition and size. Being that both planets are mostly made of gas would they "merge" and form a larger gas "supergiant", or would they be destroyed regardless of them being mostly gas. If the two planets were destroyed would it be possible for the gasses to re-coalesce onto a supergiant?
