Ungated apartment complexes
Post Body

I currently live in an apartment with a front gate (the kind that looks like guard rails) which leads to the lobby and then the 8 individual units all have their own front doors.

I'm looking at an apartment with no gate - you simply walk up stairs and there are individual units with front doors in the small complex.

The neighborhood is on the side of noe valley (baja noe?) closer to Guerrero and 21st. I was wondering if this is safe to not have a main gate door to protect the units in an apartment complex. I've never encountered this situation.

Also how is the baja noe neighborhood? I imagine it's a little more sketchy than noe valley proper, but how much worse?
