Has anyone noticed a hard to explain change in their PG&E bill since the shelter in place began?
I live in a 4 person house with normally very low utility costs: usually with four of us here, we pay about $12 per person for PG&E (water, electricity, and gas), which is amazing, no complaints there.
Since the SIP began, it's just been two of us here. The bill came in for March and April at $85/month for two of us. Since we're living at home full time, fine, $43/person is surprising but not unreasonable. In May it jumped to $150 for the two of us without any notable change in behavior (we usually never use the AC or heater, we used it one day for about 6 hours).
1) is there a way to get a breakdown of the bill so we know what utility consumption to be careful of?
2) do PG&E's rates fluctuate that much, or due to their bankruptcy did they just do a huge rate hike?
3) if there wasn't a huge rate hike, should we be looking for a leak or something that would explain a 600% increase since SIP started (with the caveat of 2 of us paying whatever base rate is there normally instead of 4), or a 74% increase between April and May with no discernible change in consumption?
