Every Monday night, anywhere between 10 and 30 people show up at Nickie's in the Lower Haight to watch WWE.
In January, there's a new season starting of Lucha Underground, a weekly wrestling show produced by Robert Rodriguez, and some of us are looking for a place to start watching that too. Are there any bars that showed LU last year? Or any that seem like a good fit?
I could imagine it being a great fit for the right place. It's a very different kind of show from WWE. It's kind of a hybrid between a sports show and a dark superhero show. It's a hard TV-14 for language and violence. Even if you're not into wrestling, it has a lot of shocking moments to keep you interested.
I'm going to call a few places, but I thought people on Reddit might have good ideas too (or know about places that have already been showing it).
One thing that makes wrestling different from real sports is that you pretty much need sound, so a lot of times, sports bars with 3 other games playing aren't a good choice.
Thanks.
