The door handle to my bathroom doesn't seem to work right and is not openable from the inside and several friends have gotten locked in my bathroom. I asked my property manager if he could get it fixed and got a simple 'No' back. Is there something I can do?

Open to ideas/tips. Feels like a safety issue. I could likely kick the door down if I got locked in there but wouldn't want to have to.
