Anyone had any luck asking their landlord to switch out the sink faucet to allow for a portable dishwasher
Post Body

I am going to move into a fairly big rent controlled unit in SF. Its one and only flaw in my book is that it has no dishwasher but there is certainly plenty of space for one.

Unfortunately the faucet is retractable. So I am really doubting I will be able to. Picture of it here if anyone is curious.

Here's my pitch I want to make.

If he will change the sink in the way that gives me somewhere to attach this portable dishwasher I would be happy to leave it in the unit. Yes, I am willing to invest 600$ once into having a dishwasher.

I am less enthused about helping him cover the cost of installing a dishwasher because I am sure that will come with a rent increase.

Any thoughts? Do you think they might bight or might this create some sort of negative impression with my new landlord.
