I live pretty much across the street from a supermarket. It’s the closest store to both my house and place of business (small town). It’s actually shorter to walk here than drive to the nearest convenience store.
Sometimes I treat it more or less like a convenience store. If I want snacks I make the three minute walk there. If I’m out of milk I’ll run across the road and get it. If I want a coke I just go over and get it.
I cannot emphasise enough how RIGHT THERE this supermarket is to my house.
At the same time I feel weird as hell wondering if the employees are like “jeez what the hell is it with this guy?”
Some days I don’t go there at all, I think the most I’ve ever been over in one day was like three or four times, maybe for three minutes at a time.
I’m so self conscious about it I’ve started making a point of going back a second time after 1 (when their shifts change) so it’s not always the same staff seeing me come in repeatedly.
Is this weird?
