How can I ask this question sensitively, to my wife of 8 years?

I love my wife dearly we've been together for 13.5 years married 8, when we do have sex (which is not often, as we have two young kids) it’s great and fun but I feel she does it because she has to at times.

she gets quite embarrassed/awkward when talking about sex, not sure why.

I want to do stuff for her, to help her, l.e find out what really turns her on, and do it for her. I want to help her initiate sex but I don't want to always have to.

But every time I approach the question I feel like she's going to get all awkward and ask me to stop, then turn it into a small argument. Any tips on how to ask this?
