How to not get your knees hurt while kneeling during longer sessions?

Seriously, I like to have longer sessions and kneel on a soft couch, but my knees start hurting after an hour (I forgive them). Do you have any hacks or tips? I tried using a thick folded blanket put under me, hoping I could make it so that my knees don't touch the couch and the weight is on the shin bones, but it doesn't really work.
