You see this a lot on r4r, online personals, etc. On the one hand, it’s perfectly understandable; you want to be sure that whoever’s messaging you doesn’t look like a troll/isn’t catfishing you with google image search results. But then at the same time I get incredibly paranoid that someone will somehow find a way to blackmail me with these. I use alt accounts for all this stuff, and let’s face it; it’s pretty sketch to trawl the Internet looking for sex stuff and that getting out and attached to my real life is, to be honest, kind of mortifying. Am I overthinking this, or has anyone actually been the target of a blackmail attempt after sending their picture?
