Is it weird to ask for a girl's phone through a note in my phone?

Yeah we work together and she's around people all the time and doesn't really have the ability to move away usually and Id prefer not to embarrass myself in front of others lol, would it be odd to write a note and pretend I'm asking for help? (We haven't talked much btw)
