Hello guys, Not sure if this kind of post is allowed, so if it gets deleted I understand.

I am thinking about getting my first tattoo. I’m thinking about getting a single word tattooed on my wrist, so it can be covered by wearing a watch.

Now I’m looking for a word that describes my situation the best. I’ve spent almost 10 years struggling with myself. Depression, loneliness, being extremely overweight and (occasionally) alcohol abuse. I finally took back control of my life and can proudly say that things are going so much better and I’m in a better place right now. Lost more than 50 kg (110 lbs for the American readers), am at peace with myself and have have been sober for a year now.

Now things are going really well, I notice I tend to forget where I came from. And even though it was a dark place, I want some kind of tattoo that reminds me of what life used to be like and why I follow the strict lifestyle that I do now.

Since English isn’t my first language I’m struggling to find the right word. These are the ones that have come to mind:

• Overcome. (Since I overcame this situation all by myself)
• Resilience. (Because despite all the setback, I showed resilience and dealt with the struggles life threw at me)
• fortitude (because I was brave enough to tackle the painful situation I was in)
