So last night before I went to bed, I was thinking, if I had to lose one, I am unsure which I would choose. In a practical sense I think losing my sight would be the worst, like trying to get around day to day, managing my home, cats, going shopping, I dunno how I'd manage any of it, losing sight for me would make life so incredibly challenging. But in a personal sense, I think losing my hearing would be the worst! Not being able to listen to music, movies, the sounds of nature, I rely so heavily on my hearing in public to feel safe, but also with my mental health, often auditory stimulation is the best to distract me from head demons.
I would definitely miss/lose personal joys with sight, like art, photography, baking, watching movies/videos, looking at nature, gaming. But yeah I just was struggling to decide, cause as bad as it would be in a practical sense to lose sight, I feel like I would be so miserable and anxious if I lost my hearing! Where my eyesight is already so poor, I rely so heavily on my hearing and I feel like all my joys in life mostly come from auditory things!
