Like many of us, I carried all kinds of shame about sex, sexuality, and my body throughout most of my life. I then spent nearly two decades in an almost asexual marriage, carrying the shame of not being wanted by someone I loved.
I’m now in the most balanced, happiest relationship I’ve ever been in, but it has taken a lot of therapy - and getting to grips with how to release shame from my body - to be where I am today. It is amazing to feel fully at home in yourself - even if sometimes those old feelings can still echo somewhere deep down.
I’m interested in hearing your stories of how you’ve broken free of sexual shame and how it’s affected your life. Maybe reading them will also help others who are still struggling under the weight of shame.
