Serious question here.

I really want to spend this summer having ditched bras 99% of the time. Obviously, sometimes I won't be able to and will be forced to wear a bra, but in general...I want to go without. They're flippin' hot, uncomfy, and feel disgusting when I'm sweaty. I'm not exactly a shy person online, but I actually am in real life. Like super shy and self-conscious. Plus, I have awkwardly large nipples from breastfeeding for years...so going braless is going to be an "obvious" endeavor. I do have nipple covers I could wear, but I feel like a lot of those still show, but it's a nipple cover "pokie" and almost draws more attention to it.

I wear a mix of loose tops and more sporty, tight tops like tanks and t-shirts; most of what I wear in the summer is tighter than looser. I'm in the US, which is generally highly prudish, sexually-conservative, and judgy AF.

I do NOT plan on wearing anything even slightly sheer, just tops that if I'm not wearing a bra WILL show my nipples poking out. I used to call it peanut smuggling when I was younger. lol So not sheer, just definite "pokies."

I've gone braless a few times before, but only when NO ONE was really out or it was just a super short trip somewhere. Very uneventful.

So what can I actually expect?

MEN: What sort of reactions from you? Both those that I'd know about and also those I'd never know but will happen? Have you ever judged a woman going and visibly being braless? Commented to her about it? Taken the sight as some sort of invitation?

WOMEN: What sort of experiences have you actually had? Anyone make comments either positive or negative to you? Anyone ever called the cops because you were braless and had pokies (ridiculous I know, but a legit worry)? How long did it take before you weren't super self-conscious?

Like really, what can I expect. Am I waaaaay overthinking this? I don't really want to be caught way off guard while Im out. Thanks for any stories, experiences and advice!
