Try your best to act on your positive impulses. When people say “working out builds confidence”, it’s not the gaining muscle/trimming fat that does it. It’s internal. It’s knowing that you did something for yourself today. It’s knowing that what you did was hard, but next time it’ll be easier. The mindset of “I just don’t feel like it right now” only digs the hole deeper. That’s relevant to house chores, dieting, personal fitness, personal hygiene, etc. Don’t beat yourself up about it, but as soon as you have the motivation, do the thing. I promise you’ll feel a bit better about yourself after, and then maybe you can accomplish the next thing.
