Is it common to shut down emotionally after being rejected because you feel like you could no longer live through that again?
Post Body

For context, my ex broke me emotionally. She belittled me and drained every ounce of confidence I ever had. She told me I was not worthy and no one will ever love me but her. She even used the story that when I told her I was molested against me. Then one day, she left. Now I've been alone depressed for 6 years because I'm afraid being left again. I barely survived it the first time and I know I could live if it happened again.
