Should I buy a new cellphone battery?

So it currently lasts about 6 hours. This is something very new, because up until about a week ago, it lasted almost all day, and would only be an issue if I used it a lot throughout the day. I can get a new phone on Oct 27th. Should I wait it out, or buy a new one, and save myself the potential problems that would occur when I would need to use it? I am a college student by the way.
EDIT: I uninstalled instagram and it solved all my issues. Stupid app.
