To my understanding it's because they steal OC from reddit and 4chan and the like without crediting it. But I've long since accepted that to be a common thing on the internet. It just seems odd to me that of all the plagiarism and copyrights violation that goes on virtually EVERYWHERE on the web that 9gag has the biggest backlash.
And before I get massively flamed, I'd like to point out I DO NOT SUPPORT, ENDORSE, USE, OR OTHERWISE GIVE ANY FUCKS ABOUT 9GAG. I'm only familiar with it through shitty facebook posts and reddit complaining about it all the time. I'm just honestly curious as to why people get so offended by it
