Right now I'm lying in bed by myself in a non-descript Marriott Courtyard off of El Camino Real in Los Altos. Its the dirty underbelly of California's Silicon Valley. Its 3 miles to Palo Alto. 15 minutes by car. One hour walk to anywhere half-decent since I don't have a car and take Ubers to work.The pool is broken here...so can't go swimming..but you can go to the neighboring El Cabana and use their pool if you show them your Marriott room key. There's a shitty Vietnamese place 5 blocks from here...Saigon something. They put eggs in the fried rice and call it vegetarian. And the waiter pours ice into your glass even though you asked for "water..no ice". But now I have a microwave in my room. I order Indian food from Grubhub and get it delivered to my room. The whole room smells of Gobi Manchurian. After I eat dinner, I go to the front desk and grab a Haagen-Dazs raspberry sorbet and wonder who all those old people in the lobby are. I think they just celebrated some old fart's 90th birthday or something. I havent seen so many old people in this Marriott . I've been here for 2 weeks now. My girlfriend should be showing up sometime soon. In a few days maybe. I havent left this room in 11 hours..since I got back from work today. I wish I had some weed to smoke. Tomorrow I'll take the train to San Francisco. Its an hour away. But it will be better than this room.

A month ago, I was in a hotel off of Santa Monica beach. Two months ago, I had a bay view apartment in a posh San Francisco neighborhood. I'm sure a month from now will be better. But right now? Right no sucks Marriott Balls!!
