Most are aware that reddit's search tool is...bad. If I want to find something, I use the google. If I want to make sure something is not a repost, I also use the google.
However, because people often use bad or misleading titles, or because stories are too new to have comments--I frequently miss things and end up submitting reposts.
I have noticed that in certain subreddits (/r/politics for example) you are alerted when you submit a URL that has already been submitted.
Is there a way to extrapolate this feature to all of reddit? Is there a way to enable a "search for URL" feature? Is there already a way to do this?
