Reddit, my girlfriend's cat caught a juvenile collared dove, and I've captured it but its injured. Advice needed [PIC INSIDE].

Post Body

My guess is s/he is a month or maybe two old. Percy/Bonny is obviously scared shitless and will not move unless I gently move her wing to see the damage, at which point s/he suddenly learn avian kung fu and kick the feathery shit out of me.

Her wing is seemingly undamaged and is able to move it around like a penguin on exctacy, but wont fly. Her right underside is bloody and her soft underfeathers have been removed to show her flesh, but the wound isn't that deep.

It's night here so vets aren't an option, and would in all likelyhood put him/her down anyway. I'd rather not have to euthenise her myself, as A) I've never done it before and may just put her in a lot of pain and B) I would not like to kill an animal that has a fighting chance of living.

I've given her blankets, seed and water and I'm staying away from her so she doesn't shit herself all over my kitchen.

Any advice reddit? Thanks.

P.S. fucking cats.
