A few days ago I was eating lunch with a co-worker. I had a hamburger and was really enjoying the way the meat tasted combined with the lettuce, and was also thinking about how ridiculous it is when food is made so tall that you cannot fit it in your mouth. I told my co-worker that I think we are the only animals that assemble our food too tall to fit in our mouths, and then I wondered if there are any squirrels who wrap leaves around a nut because the nut tastes better that way. I don't even know how to begin researching this. Do you know of any animals that combine foods purely for flavor reasons (not to enhance grip or anything), and do you think there are any talented animal chefs?
My co-worker was no help with this question, she just started choking when I asked her opinion.
