​We need to organize projects at my work. Can you recommend any software that might help?

I work in a very small office, and each of us has a half dozen or so projects. As of right now, we have no effective way or organizing all of these projects so that we can see them, have calendars for them, input that we've worked on them, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how we can do this? Something more dynamic than an excel spreadsheet would be preferable. Sorry to be ignorant, but I thought I'd ask reddit first to see if anyone had some dynamite program they can't live without.
