Why doesn't the news cover suicides?
Post Body
If someone is murdered or dies accidentally, the media (at least here in the US) always seems to report it. Suicides only seem to be mentioned if they happen in some sort of extreme way, like a man jumping off a building in downtown or something.
Wouldn't it be better for everyone to know just how sad people are these days? Maybe more of us would know what to look for and how to offer help if we weren't able to ignore the fact that people are killing themselves all around us.
